HEALTHY SOIL – GENEROUS HARVEST – ORGANIC COMPOCT

Everyone has known for a long time that the best generator of plant productivity is organic fertilizers.

This is manure, which was always enough for the farms. But eventually chemistry replaced organics. At the same time, everyone wants ecologically clean products (!) and that the land does not become depleted.

Over the last 100 years, Ukrainian chernozems have lost half of their humus, the main fertile component. Accordingly, the natural fertility of the soil decreases. The amount of organic fertilizers applied in Ukraine per 1 ha in 2022 decreased by more than 20 times compared to 1990!

These are threatening trends regarding the balance of humus in the soil. Every year, more than 20-30% of agricultural production is not maintained due to soil depletion.

In Ukraine during the last years, an unbalanced deficit system of agriculture dominated. The harvests of recent years are mainly the result of exhausting the exceptional natural fertility of the soil in combination with the unbalanced introduction of mineral fertilizers.

To ensure a deficit-free balance of humus in the soils of Ukraine, the urgent task is to change the system of applying fertilizers with a reorientation to increase the share of organic fertilizers.

The most common type of organic fertilizers in the world of agricultural origin is compost

Application compost to the soil is considered in most cases to be the best ecological approach, which makes it possible to close the cycles of natural nutrients and carbon. Organic materials are a valuable source of basic nutrients, such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P2O5), potassium (K2O), sulfur (SO3) and a significant number of other trace elements of organic origin, which are important for plant growth, and therefore – production of plant products. Organic materials are also a valuable source of organic substances that contribute to soil saturation, facilitate mechanical processing and soil erosion resistance, etc.

European practice shows that more than 70% of farms switch to organic farming, but there are very few agricultural enterprises in Ukraine that practice applying organic fertilizers to fields. We do it!!!

We want to grow and at the same time improve the soil. Applying organic fertilizers, we reduce the load on the earth from mineral salts – nitrates, phosphates, dehydrophosphates – by more than 60%. It is also worth taking into account the fact that the chemical industry of Ukraine does not produce phosphorus-potassium fertilizers. ORGANIC COMPOST is an ideal alternative for all farmers who are thinking about the future of their business.

With stable application, we see in our fields how the content of humus has increased, that is, the content of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium. The soil is saturated with trace elements, there are practically no salts of heavy metals in it. The microbiological condition of soils and their activity improved significantly. We have the results of relevant laboratory tests.

The developed agro-industrial sector of the economy of Ukraine with a large amount of agricultural land requires significant amounts of fertilizers. Forms of management and land ownership during the years of Ukraine’s independence had a negative impact on soil fertility, it is manifested in the loss of a significant part of humus, imbalance of the content of nutrients, acidification and alkalization of soils, deficiency of mobile forms of phosphorus, potassium and a number of trace elements, over-compaction, chemical and radiation pollution, erosion.

The advantage of organic fertilizers over mineral fertilizers is the presence of many years of experience in their use. They act on the plant more slowly, as they decompose, but over a long period they are much safer than mineral fertilizers.

We cannot forget about the ecological consequences of the unbalanced use of mineral fertilizers. Deterioration of soil properties, water and air pollution from year to year acquires an increasingly large scale in Ukraine as a result of the use of mineral fertilizers.

ORGANIC FERTILIZERS ARE WIDELY USED IN EUROPE

The developed countries of Europe — Germany, Great Britain, and the Netherlands — which apply high rates of organic fertilizers (26–75 tons) per hectare of arable land, receive a stable 55–60 h/ha of grain crops.

The action plan for the development of the circular economy of the European Commission maximally stimulates the use of organic fertilizers in the agricultural economy of the EU.

It is assumed that fertilizers from processed organic waste will make up 30% of all fertilizers in the EU in the near future. The use of organic fertilizers creates prerequisites for the development of organic agricultural production, which will allow farmers to increase their income from the sale of products in the future.

Our philosophy is sustainable and balanced development of the agricultural sector. Products, that are grown without the use of mineral fertilizers, are sold at a higher price than the harvest from fields where traditional technology is used. Many farmers engaged in organic farming in our country find sales markets abroad, mainly in Western European countries. However, there is a high demand for such a product in Ukraine.

Organic production and a clean environment are the basic human health, and therefore, the main components of disease and epidemic prevention, our longevity.
