
As of April 1, 2020, there are 3366.6 million cattle heads in Ukraine, of which 1780.6 million are dairy cattle. The total number of cattle decreased by 7.2% compared to the analyzed period of 2019 (3629.0 million heads) – according to the milkUA.info website with reference to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
In the industrial sector, the number of cattle decreased by 10%:
1031.6 million heads – in 2020,
1145.9 million heads – in 2019.
Including dairy livestock – 430.9 thousand, which is 6.9% less than in the analyzed period of 2019.
Growth of cattle in industrial enterprises is observed only in Ternopil region (+ 2.0%). In other regions, the number of cattle is decreasing. The largest decrease was observed in Luhansk (-25,3%), Donetsk (-18,1%) and Odessa (-15,8%) regions.
As of April 1, the number of cattle in households decreased by 6%:
2335.0 million heads – in 2020,
2483.1 million heads – in 2019.
The number of dairy cattle is – 1349.7 million, which is 6.3% less than in the previous year.
The data is given without taking into account the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Sevastopol and part of the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
