The secret of high yields is revealed

Ukrainian land has always been famous for its fertility, and Ukrainian chernozems are rightly considered as one of the best in the world. Boundless fields and golden steppes enchant the eyes of every passerby, but will it always be so? The answer is obvious, because it has long been no secret that Ukrainian farmers use
a large amount of chemical fertilizers to increase yields, which in the long run can lead to depletion of the fertile soil layer. But not everything is so pessimistic, because nowdays organic fertilizers can seriously compete with chemical fertilizers.

The innovator in the production of organic fertilizer is the Limited Liability Company “Moloko Vitchyzny”, which has been producing the high-quality organic fertilizer “Organic Compost” at its own facilities for more than a year. The raw material for production is manure, which is formed as a result of cattle breeding on the own farms. Fertilizer is obtained by composting, and each stage is strictly controlled. The obtained organic fertilizer is balanced in terms of nutrients and can serve as an alternative source of essential plant nutrients for successful agriculture. However, the question arises: “Is it possible to consider organic fertilizers as an equivalent to mineral alternative? Will their application make it possible to obtain stable yields?”

Organic fertilizers play a significant role in the accumulation of humus reserves, the level of which with the constant use of chemical fertilizers decreases. In fact, humus is the energy base of biological processes occurring in soils, a source of available for plants lines of micro and macroelements, physiologically active substances. Humus contains about 80% of all nitrogen reserves and 40% of phosphorus. The content of humus in the soil is one of the most important factors in soil fertility, as the creation of water depends on it, improving aeration, regulation of nutrient regime and physical properties of the soil.

The influence of humus on fertility rates can be achieved only due to its optimal content in the soil. Without the use of organic fertilizers, it can lose from 500 kg to 1000 kg per 1 hectare annually. One of the options for increasing the humus content in the soil and obtaining high yields is the use of organic fertilizers.

Compost is an excellent organic fertilizer, which contains a number of trace elements that are important for plant nutrition.

Compost has the maximum efficiency, because each element has an organic origin – this form of nutrients is the most rational, and also has the maximum absorption by plants without loss of these precious elements. Compost is used by plants not only in the direct action of the first year, its effectiveness is also evident in the aftereffects, by 2 and 3 years after introduction. Availability of assimilation of nutrients from compost has a prolonged effect, and efficiency – for three years.

Compost in the fertilizer system is best applied to corn for grain and silage, sunflower, rapeseed and soybeans. Under cereals (winter wheat, barley, rye) it is better to apply carefully and clearly control the rate, as it should be agronomic and economically expedient. High doses can lead to lie down of crop.

Another significant advantage of organic fertilizer “Organic Compost” is cost-effectiveness in application. Studies have shown that the use of compost is 15% more cost-effective than chemical analogues, which allows not only to accumulate in the soil humus and a full range of micro and macronutrients, but also to save money.
